We are a small kennel in South Central Pennsylvania.  Well, really we are just a family with some awesome dogs we'd like to tell you about . . .

 The puppies are gone - pretty much!

The three female pups have been placed in awesome homes.  Ruckus will be on his way to his new home at the end of March.  Congratulations Peter on your new puppy!

Our Dogs

We have two Rough Coated Dutch Shepherds who are a loved part of our family.  Delilah is a beautiful little female with an intense but loving nature.  Kobus is a huge male with a happy, love everything and everyone attitude.  They have enough energy to keep up with anything we offer that day and then some.  However, they are also content to just hang out at home as long as they are by our sides.

With only 21 Rough Coated Dutch Shepherds that I know of in the US, these dogs are a special and rare breed.

How we got started:

In 2004, we began researching different breeds as we knew our dear Rottweiler would not be with us much longer.  We were excited to find out more about the Dutch Shepherd.  Dutch Shepherds are an old breed that has three different coat types recognized.  The short haired type is the more common one in the breed, then the long haired and then the rough coated type.  We liked the rough coated type because they shed less than the other two coat types and because they just made us laugh.  So, with the help of the breed secretary, we found a litter to be born soon and were able to pick out a good match.  That was Delilah!  Some years later, we had moved back to North America and began considering breeding Delilah as she was growing up to be a wonderful dog.  In looking for a stud, we discovered there were only 8 Rough Coated Dutchies in North America that we could locate.  Of these, the only un-neutered male was a relative of Delilah and so therefore not the best match.  That is how Kobus came into the picture . . .
